UAE e-invoicing: what restaurants need to know
A plain-language overview of the UAE e-invoicing roll-out, PINT AE and Accredited Service Providers for restaurant owners.

The UAE is moving from paper and PDF tax invoices to structured electronic invoices, introduced in phases starting with the largest businesses.
How it works
Invoices are created in a structured format called PINT AE, based on the international Peppol standard. They are sent through an Accredited Service Provider (ASP), which validates them and shares the data with the buyer and the Federal Tax Authority.
What restaurants should do now
- Check which phase applies to your business on the Ministry of Finance website.
- Choose an Accredited Service Provider.
- Make sure your POS can produce PINT AE invoices and credit notes.
- Keep customer TRNs for business customers up to date.
Does it apply to sales to walk-in customers?
The roll-out focuses on business-to-business and business-to-government invoices first. Always confirm the current rules with the Ministry of Finance or your tax adviser.
